I burned myself.

If the area of injury is extensive and involves the hand (especially the palm), feet or genitals, you should go directly to the Emergency Room.

  • First, remove clothing if possible, apply cold compresses.
  • If the burned area is only red, apply ice or cold compresses.
  • If a blister develops, cover with cool compress, leave blister intact, call Student Health Services.
  • Advil or Tylenol may help relieve the discomfort.
  • DO NOT APPLY OINTMENTS OR BUTTER.
