I have a nosebleed.

Sit quietly. Pinch the soft parts of your nose firmly with two fingers. Apply steady, but not painful, upward pressure for three full minutes. Remove your fingers and see if your nose bleeds again. If necessary, repeat this pressure technique three times (three minutes each time). If the bleeding persists after three attempts: pack the bleeding nostril with cotton or gauze and call Student Health Services.  If you have had a recent nosebleed that has stopped, do NOT blow your nose forcefully as that is likely to restart the bleeding.
